The circumference (C) of a circle is 16 cm.

Circumference C =
\pi *d

The approximate value of
\pi is 3.14

Given C = 16

We plug in 16 for C and 3.14 for
\pi in the formula C =
\pi *d . then solve for d

C =
\pi *d

16 = 3.14 * d

'd' is multiplied with 3.14. To get 'd' alone we divide by 3.14 from both sides

(16)/(3.14) = (\pi*d)/(3.14)

5.09554 = d

So diameter of the circle = 5.1 cm
