In Alice Walker's short Everyday Use Maggie is an introvert, shy and calm daughter of narrator. She doesn't have a good education and has got burn scars, as well. In a complete comparison with her sister, Dee a focal point arrives for Maggie in the use of quilt. Her ability to use quilt in comparison with Dee connects Maggie to her roots more deeply than her sister which makes later become jealous of it. Therefore, the narrator values Maggie more than Dee.
