Please excuse me if I misunderstood your question... but I am guessing this project is a fiction-writing assignment... and you are asked to "create" a superhero.
In that case... most superheroes in films and books have one of two upbringings:
1. A very bad childhood, a lot of traumatic experiences. (In these cases, ethnicity/cultural background usually mirrors parts of the world struck by poverty. Like a violence-ridden neighborhood, a poverty-stricken desert village, a royal family that's on the brink of execution/collapse.)
2. A non-threatening childhood/life... but it's very boring.
- A very wealthy family/home/neighborhood... where indulgence and greed is accepted and not punished.
- A very "normal" lifestyle... in a middle-class suburban neighborhood.
- A very secluded lifestyle... like in a small Alaska town with a limited amount of jobs/schooling... or a farm.
In scenario 1... the superhero is forced to be strong to survive. In scenario 2... the superhero usually attains some kind of power by a stroke of luck... and he's suddenly exposed to a more high-stakes life.
