Explanation:

The slope may be determined using any two points. I'll use (-3,-18) and (9,42). The slope is defined as the Rise/Run (the change in y for a change in x).

RISE = (42 - (-18)) = 60

RUN = (9 - (-3)) = 12

SLOPE = (60/12) or 5

The equation becomes y = 5x + b

To find b, the y-intercept, enter any of the points into the equation and solve for b/ I'll use (5,22):

y = 5x + b

22 = 5*(5) + b

22 = 25 + b

b = -3
