How does literature help us remember the past (or speak to the future)? Can we trust fictional accounts of the past, or are written accounts inevitably biased?

Literature encourages us to recollect the past and address the future by perusing old history books and record new improvements for the who and what is to come.

Likewise, I figure, we can push all previous history, in light of the fact that numerous old-world nations had a few narratives, and if the fates of this nations were "interlaced", the two annals of that period were thinking about, that educates us concerning reality of the story.
