1. replace F(x) by y: y = 5x - 2
2. interchange x and y: x = 5y - 2
3. solve for y: 5y = x + 2, so y = (x + 2)/5
4. replace y with
-1 -1 x + 2
F (x): F (x) = --------- (answer)
5

The inverse would be

f^-1(x) = x/5 - 2/5
