A baseball player's "batting average" is the number of hits for every 1000 times the player is at bat. Last season Gary was at bat 248 times, resulting in 93 hits. What was Gary's batting average last season?
Please teach me how to calculate this. Thank you!

I am not 100% but i would think you would set it up as a ratio

93/248 = x/1000

set it up actual / total

then cross multiply and divide

93x x 1000 then divide by 248

which gives you 375
