Hearing disorder.

Increasing numbers of students who are deaf or hard of hearing are receiving their education in general education settings with special education support from an itinerant teacher. However, previous research indicates that the majority of teacher preparation programs do not provide training on the itinerant teaching model or set up field experiences for pre-service teachers as an itinerant teacher. The purpose of this study was to survey a national sample of itinerant teachers of students who are deaf or hard of hearing to learn about their practices, preparation, perceptions, and the students they serve.

Speech disorder.Itinerant teachers are also known as travelling teachers. These teachers are supposed to help students with a speech disorder because they provide individual instructions in specific disability skills and that is why these teachers travel in different schools to provide special learning materials.
