Answer:

Pancho Villa

Step-by-step explanation:

As a caudillo, a regional leader with a militia and military tactics, Villa is famous for his surprise attack on the fort of Colombus.

The state of Mexico was in the midst of civil war , and when this took the settlement of Columbus by surprise, they decided to declare war on Mexico.

The demand was to repay the damage set on the civilian population, but since many factions in Mexico were controlling different areas and no central government was to be held accountable, the US goverment decided to pursue Villa seeking him dead or alive.

Curiously Villa was never found altough the American troops entered and reached the capital. The capture of Villa still today remains a mistery.
