Why do historians need to be careful about being unbaised when presenting historical facts?

if a historian is biased to one side of a historical debate, he/she will present it in a way that makes it better than the other side, even if it isn’t

The historians could be wrong without proper proof to back up their so-called "facts". Therefore, they would need to study and know what they're talking about, before presenting their statements as facts.
