A company with loud machinery needs to cut its sound intensity to 37% of its original level. By how many decibels would the loudness be reduced? Use the formula L=10log I/I. Round to the nearest hundredth.

The work is really confusing me, so I would also need to know the work.

Reduction = 10 log (final intensity/initial intensity)

= 10 log (0.44 original / original)

= 10 log (0.44)
= 10 ( -0.357)

= - 3.57 dB .
