The answer is B)Segment 3 only

Reason: The sequence is GATTA. The complementary sequence is supposed to be CTAAT not CCAAT. A is not complementary to C. Like the saying goes: Apples in the Tree and Cars in the Garage

For DNA Sequences:
A goes with T
C goes with G

But in a RNA sequence it's...
A goes with U(Uracil)
(Hope this helps in the near future :) )

Basically you have to match up the letters. Here is something u can use to help remember how to pair the nucleic acids. Cars in the garage (cytosine pares with guanine and nothing else) and apples in the trees (adenine pairs with thymine) thymine becomes uracil during the process of RNA. Therefore, segment 3 would be the one with the error because the C representing cytosine does not pair with the G representing guanine.
