We can see the figure as two triangles and a square.
We have then:
Area of the square:
A1 = (4) * (4)
A1 = 16
Area of the small triangle:
A2 = (1/2) * (4) * (1)
A2 = 2
Area of the big triangle:
A3 = (1/2) * (5) * (4)
A3 = 10
The area of the figure is:
At = A1 + A2 + A3
At = 16 + 2 + 10
At = 28units²
