f(x)=3x-4
y=f(x)
y=3x-4
then flip y to x
x=3y-4
solve for y
x+4=3y
y=x/3+4/3 is the inverse hopes this helps.

f(x) = 3x - 4 can be restated as y = 3x - 4. To find the inverse switch x and y and then solve for y.

x = 3y - 4 \\ x + 4 = 3y \\ y = (x+4)/(3) - The inverse
