The particles in CO2 rises to the atmosphere and the more carbon dioxide that rises increase the temperature. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas so it would increase (hot) temperatures.

It traps the heat in instead of letting it out into space. For this reason CO2 is a greenhouse gas.
