The correct answer would be Choice B: 127.

In the survey 36 out of 120 when will Company y, that is 30%.

30% of 380 is 114. Choice B is the closest number to 114. So I would select that answer.

Answer:

144

Explanation:

In a survey of 120 students

36 students have a cell phone plan with company Y

So, percentage of students having y cell phones =
(36)/(120) * 100

=
30\%

Thus 30% of the students have a cell phone plan with company Y

Now we are given that The total population of students was 380.

So, out of 380 , no. of students having cell phones of company y :

30\% * 380

(30)/(100) * 380

114

Hence the best approximation for the total number of students who have a cell phone plan with company is 144
