Gavin drank 3/4 of a orange juice from a container, which was 3/8 of the orange juice that was originally in the container.how much orange juice was originally in the container? SHOW WORK

so 3/4 is not the same as 3/8 so you have to make it the same multiply both 3 and 4 by 2 which is 6/8+ 3/8 and that is 9/8 then 1 1/8

Let x liters be original amount of juice in container.

We have been given that Gavin drank 3/4 liters of juice from the container. We are also given that it is 3/8 of the original amount of juice.

Now let us set our given information in an equation.


(3)/(8)\cdot x=(3)/(4)

After solving this equation we will get,


x=(3\cdot 8)/(3\cdot 4)\\ \\ x=(8)/(4)=2

Therefore, initially there were 2 liters of orange juice in container.
