To solve for x use the cosine ratio.

cos 33 = x/45
45 (cos 33) = x
37.74 = x

Hope this helps :)

Answer: x= 37.74

Explanation:

From the given figure, there is a right triangle in which the the side opposite to the right angle (Hypotenuse) = 45 units

Corresponding to angle
33^(\circ), the side adjacent to angle = x

By trigonometry,

\cos\theta=\frac{\text{side adjacent to }\theta}{\text{Hypotenuse}}\\\\\Rightarrow\cos(33^(\circ))=(x)/(45)\\\\\Rightarrow0.83867056794=(x)/(45)\\\\\Rightarrow x=45*0.83867056794\\\\\Rightarrow x=37.7401755573\approx37.74\ units
