How does Douglass use parallelism in this excerpt?

to establish that as a former slave he has the authority to discuss this topic
to communicate important background information about slavery in America
to emphasize his claim that slavery should have no place in the land of the free
to present compelling evidence in defense of America’s legacy of slavery

(for person above)^ that's rude! You don't know what they're going through, this might be the only question they ever asked about, they might be an A+ student who does the readings, goes to classes, has no overdues, etc. BE MORE NICE/KIND TO PEOPLE! Anyways, I would say the answer is c - to emphasize his claim that slavery should have no place in the land of the free. :) Hope this helps, have a great day/weekend EVERYONE!
