the saying it's freezing outside just means it feels very cold. It's not accurate because the temperature doesn't actually cause you to psychically freeze.

It's not accurate because even when it is cold it isn't freezing. The freezing point is below 32°F, if it's just cold, then it isn't considered freezing, cold is typically below 65°F.
