Evan's mother used 1/3 pound of beef, 1/2 pound of shrimp, and 3 pounds of pasta to make dinner for 4 people.

Quantity of Beef used = 1/3 pounds

Quantity of Shrimp used = 1/2 pounds

Quantity of pasta used = 3 pounds

Total number of people for dinner = 4

Part A:

Since all 4 people need equal serving of beef, so dividing 1/3 pound by 4 , we will get 1/12 or 0.0833...

Answer: Each person will get 1/12 or 0.0833.. pound of beef.

Part B:

Since all 4 people need equal serving of shrimp, so dividing 1/2 pound by 4 , we will get 1/8 or 0.125 pound.

Answer: Each person will get 1/8 or 0.125 pound of shrimp.

Part C:

Since all 4 people need equal serving of pasta, so dividing 3 pound by 4 , we will get 3/4 or 0.75.

Answer: Each person will get 3/4 or 0.75 pound of pasta.

Part D:

Evan only ate 1/2 of the pasta that he received.

Pasta received by Evan = 0.75 pounds.

He ate half of what he received, so half of 0.75 pounds is 0.375 pounds.
