First you need to find the total number of people going on the trip.
20 + 6 + 13 = 39

Since only 10 people can fit in each boat, you can divide the total number of people by 10.
39 / 10 = 3.9

Since the answer is not a whole number, you round up to the nearest whole number. You can't round down because if you do, there will be people without a boat to go in.

3.9 rounds up to 4. You need 4 boats.

Hello!

First you have to find out how many people are going

20 * 3 ( 20 students from 3 classes)

60 + 6 + 13 = 79

Then you can do 79/10 = 7.9

Since you can't have 9/10 of a boat they need 8 boats

Hope this helps!
