How did Rome shape Christianity?

Answer:

The emperor Constantine granted Roman citizens the freedom to worship as they chose. Emperor Theodosius soon made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire.

Christianity continued to grow. When the Roman Empire in the west declined, the Christian Church took over many of its duties. It then became the central institution of western Europe for almost 1,000 years.

The Romans switched their official religion to Christianity after the apostle Paul went on many voyages to create churches across the Mediterranean. This was after Jesus was crucified and where a whole ton of weird stuff happened after that.
