What is the result of adding the system of equations?

2x + y = 4
3x - y = 6

2x + y = 4
3x - y = 6
------------------add
5x = 10
x = 2

so
2x + y = 4
2(2) + y = 4
4 + y = 4
y = 0

answer
x = 2 and y = 0

Y is canceled out, leaving 5x=10.
