When Chief Black Kettle appealed to forces at Fort Cobb for protection from other Native American tribes, he was denied. What reason was he given?

1.The Cheyenne had not paid enough taxes to the federal government.

2.The Cheyenne has never formally ratified the Medicine Lodge Treaty.

3.The Cheyenne were not living on an officially designated reservation.

4. The Cheyenne were already capable of defending themselves from attack.

The Cheyenne were not living on an officially designated reservation.

They were supposed to stay in Oklahoma which had officially been designated Indian Territory.
