we know that

[volume of a prism]=L*W*H
L=3 1/2 in-------> (3*2+1)/2--------> 7/2 in
W=3 1/2 in-------> (3*2+1)/2--------> 7/2 in
H=7 in
so
[volume of a prism]=(7/2)*(7/2)*7--------> 85.75 in³

[the difference in volume between the prism and the storage container]=90-85.75------------> 4.25 in³ (4 1/4 in³)

the answer is 4.25 in³ (4 1/4 in³)
