Higher temperatures, tend to work better at cleaning because many chemical reactions take place faster.
For example is it easier to use hot water and "melt" off all that grease and butter when washing dishes or cold?
the same goes for washing clothes some dirty substance that stained your shirt a few weeks ago will be easily washed off as it "melts off" because of its melting point in the hot water.

Answer:

Particle theory of matter states that particles at higher temperatures move faster that those at lower temperatures. Then laundry detergents particles move faster in hot water than in cold water, and therefore, they are more efficient and work better.
