Can someone please help me with this? It's from the lady or the tiger.

1. Was the king's system of trying criminals a fair one by modern standards? Why or why not?

2. If the princess had been a Christian rather than a barbarian, what would she have done? What Christian principle is involved?

3. If the princess had made the choice you think she would have made, what would probably have happened in the next scene? Consider how the princess would feel as well as the events you think might take place.

4. Can you think of any examples from daily life or the news of the day that show conflicts caused by jealousy?

Answer:

The Lady or The Tiger was based on barbarian principles. During those times, their system of justice involved fighting to the death, and cruel punishments. Today, this system of trying criminals would be violating the 8th amendment of the constituions; "No cruel an unsual punishment." Fighting to the death with a tiger would be considered cruel and unsual. In addition, forcing a woman to marry the survivor would not pass in our society.
