0.9% / 100% = 0.009
= 9/1000

equivalent ratio:
9/1000 = 153/x

cross multiply
9x = 153,000
x = 153,000/9
x = 17,000

153/17,000 = 0.009

Answer:

153 is 0.9% of 17000.

We used this equivalent ratios :

(153)/(0.9)=(x)/(100)

Explanation:

Given that 153 is 0.9% of a number, we denote this number as ''x''.

Also, we know that exists a linear relationship between the number and the percentage, and this linear relationship is a direct proportional relationship.Meaning that a higher number indicates a higher percentage and also a lower number indicates a lower percentage.

We know that the number ''x'' will be 100% of the number. Using this following equivalent ratios :

(153)/(0.9)=(x)/(100)

Solving for ''x'' :

(153)/(0.9)=(x)/(100)\\x=((153).(100))/(0.9)=17000

We find that If 153 is 0.9% of a number, the 100% of the number is x = 17000

being 17000 the number.
