Identify the factor terms by grouping: 4x^3 + 2x^2 – 18x – 9

A) 2x(2x + 1) - 9(2x + 1)
B) 2x(2x + 1) + 9(2x + 1)
C) 2x^2(2x + 1) - 9(2x + 1)
D) 2x^2(2x + 1) + 9(2x + 1)

group terms that have factorable coefficients (like 2&4 and then 9&18)

(4x³ + 2x²) + (-18x - 9)

factor out the like terms
2x²(2x + 1) - 9(2x +1)

parenthesis are the same so you can factor further.. {Like 2x+3x = (2+3)x}

(2x² - 9)(2x+1)

Factored too far they only want Answer C. is the correct one for grouping
