This is an example of "echoic memory".Echoic memory is the memory which is particular to sound-related data or that information which come through auditory measures. The sensory memory for sounds that individuals have quite recently seen is the type of echoic memory. Generally speaking, echoic memories are kept for somewhat longer timeframes than iconic or visual recollections.
