the sequence given is an arithmetic sequence;
the explicit formula for the sequence is:
an=a+(n-1)d
where
a=first term
n=index
d=common difference
from the sequence
a=34
d=26-34=-8
thus the explicit formula will be:
an=34-8(n-1)
an=34-8n+8
an=42-8n
