The answer is 5 because if you add up the people who took Biology and Chemistry you get 45 then if you subtract that from 50 you get 5. You don't pay any attention to the 12 because it's only there to trick you. You don't need to know that exactly 12 people took both Biology and Chemistry bc they are already accounted for in the 25 and 20.
