If a single DNA strand contains 40 adenines prior to replication, what conclusion can be made about its complementary strand after replication, assuming no mutations occurred?

The conclusion that can be drawn is that the complementary strand will have 40 thymines. The replication process produces two identical clones of a specific molecule of DNA. DNA strands are comprised of chains of four different types of nucleotides (adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine). Adenine only pairs with thymine and guanine with cytosine, to form the double stranded DNA. During the replication, a single strand of DNA acts as a template for the forming strand of DNA. Since the template contains 40 adenines, after the completion of replication, the complementary strand will have 40 thymines.
