Requirement Germany to pay war reparations--The Treaty of Versailles forced Germany to agree to the war guilt clause which put all the blame on them.

The reparations (payments for war) placed on Germany was one of the harshest parts of the treaty and would create massive economic stress on Germany. The war guilt clause also caused shame within the country destroying the pride of the country.
