x^(3) - 3 x^(2) - x +3

You have to do that first.

=( x^(3) -3x^2)+(-x+3)

Then, you have to remove out the factor x^2.

= x^2(x-3) - (x-3)

Now, factor out the common factor (x-3).

=(x-3)(x^2-1)

And at the end, factor x² -1.

x^2-1=(x+1)(x-1)

It gives :
= (x-3)(x+1)(x-1)

Hope this helps !
