President Obama's released 2009 strategy involved the United States helping to fund Pakistan and Afganistan's plight to defeat Al Queda and to keep them from returning to either country. He asked for a 5 year recurrent amount of 1.5 billion dollars to help fund the effort and that we provide resources to those countries. In his exit strategy he stated that America had helped the Iraqis enough and that they now needed to take responsibility. He admitted that we had spent over a trillion dollars in that effort. He planned to move troops to new areas as soon as possible. I disagree with his actions. At that time, we were going through hard economic times here in the US. We gave two countries money that could have been used here. I understand that we were also trying to protect our national interest and home security, but the amount of money that we provided and troops was excessive.
