Answer: d. 5 ⋅ y + 5 ⋅ 2 + 4

Explanation:

The expression 5( y + 2) + 4 means that the figures inside the bracket are to be multiplied by the figure outside it.

5 will therefore multiply both y and 2 while keeping the sign inside the bracket constant..

After expanding the terms in the bracket by multiplication, they will be:

5 * y + 5 * 2

Add the other figure(+4) in the equation as nothing changes for it:

5 * y + 5 * 2 + 4

Option D is therefore correct.
