The discount is $3.00 Why? You need to multiply the cost of the sweater by the discount as follows:

15x0.2=3

Hello Lyn,

To find the discount, you simply have to multiply the percent by the total amount. However, don't forget to convert 20% to the decimal 0.2.

The correct answer is 0.2 x 15 = 3

The discount is $3.

I hope this helps, Good luck!
