Five hundred fifty students attended the assembly. If the ratio of boys to girls in the assembly was 5 to 6, how many girls attended the assembly

There are 300 girls

Explaination:
The ratio is 5 boys to 6 girls, and a total of 550 students attending. To find the answer you have to multiply both ratio numbers by the same amount to get a correct answer. (See equation below)

(5 * 50) + (6 * 50) = 550
And to find how many girls and boys simply solve each one (5×50=250 boys) and (6×50=300 girls)
