Answer: 484.5
Form your proportion. Let x be the # of defective discs in a batch of 41000.
1100/13 = 41000/x
Solve for x by cross-multiplying.
1100/13 = 41000/x
1100x = (13)(41000)
1100x = 533000
x ≈ 484.5
