because 5(k-78)=40 okay so you divide 5 both sides so 5/5 and 40/5 so 5 disappears and you get an 8 so this should be the equation now : k -78 =8 . so now you move the constant to the right so it looks like this : k =8+78 . so now you just add that and it gives you 86 . K =86
