⇒2 will multiply everything in the brackets.

$2(p)+2(19)=8\\2p+38=8\\$

⇒Now I will group like terms to solve for p. Note those that cross the equal sign change sign

$2p=8-38\\2p=-30\\(2p)/(2) =(-30)/(2) \\p=-15$

We found that p=-15
