Can anyone work me through this and explain how to do this? I'm kinda confused. Subject is: "simplify numerical radical expressions involving square roots"

i don't just want the answers, I want help understanding how to do this.

1) 5sqrt(44)
5sqrt(11•4)
5sqrt(11•2•2)
This means that we can pull a 2 out of the square root...
2(5)sqrt(11)
10sqrt(11)
B is the answer.

2) sqrt(96)-sqrt(24)
sqrt(2•48)-sqrt(6•4)
sqrt(2•6•8)-sqrt(3•2•2•2)
sqrt(2•3•2•4•2)-sqrt(3•2•2•2)
sqrt(2•3•2•2•2•2)-sqrt(3•2•2•2)
Pull out the numbers...
2(2)sqrt(3•2)-2sqrt(3•2)
4sqrt(6)-2sqrt(6)
2sqrt(6)
The answer is D
