To find the scale factor, we need to make proportion of the side by this following formula. s represents the scale factor
the new measurement = s × the original measurement

Use one of the sides to find the scale factor. I use the side CE, therefore the new side is C'E'. The measurement of CE is 2 units, and the measurement of C'E' is 4 units.
C'E' = s × CE
4 = s × 2
4 = 2s
2s = 4
s =
(4)/(2)
s = 2

The scale factor is 2
Because the new triangle C'D'E' is larger than the original one CDE, the triangles is enlarged.

The correct answer is option A
