The square root sign just means raising the variables inside to
(1)/(2). Therefore, to simplify using fractional exponents, the expression will just be
(mn)^{ (1)/(2)} or
m^{ (1)/(2)}*n^{ (1)/(2)}.

Answer:
√mn = m^1/2 * n^1/2

Step-by-step explanation:
1- square root means that the number is raised to the power 1/2.
Therefore:
√mn = (mn)^1/2
2- When we have a bracket containing two numbers multiplied by each other, and the whole bracket is raised to a certain power, then each number within the bracket would be raised to this same power.
This means that:
(mn)^1/2 = m^1/2 * n^1/2

Hope this helps :)
