1) We can simplify 4/10 by dividing both #s by 2.

4/10 ÷ 2/2= 2/5

2) We can increase both #s by multiplying each by both by the same number. I choose the number 2 (bit this works with any number as long as you increase both numerator and denominator by the same amount).

=4/10 * 2/2
=(4*2)/(10*2)
=8/20

Two equivalent fractions are 2/5 and 8/20.
