You are looking at two area rugs for your bedroom. One is a square with a side length of 6.3 feet. The other is a rectangle that is 4.8 feet by 8.2 feet. Which rug will cover the greater area? How much more are will it cover?

Square Area:
A= side squared
A= (6.3)^2
A= 6.3 * 6.3
A= 39.69 feet squared

Rectangle Area:
A= length * width
A= (4.8)(8.2)
A= 39.36 feet squared.

The square rug with an area of 39.69 feet squared covers more a greater area.

Difference:
39.69 - 39.36= 0.33 square feet more

Hope this helps! :)
