Hey there!

So, if
y=(4), this would mean that we would do
(2 \ * \ 4) and from this, we would get 8.

We will then need to find what is
(x).

(x) = 7

8*7 =
\boxed{56}

So, the equation would really look like . . .

\left[\begin{array}{ccc} 8*(7)-2*4 = 48 \\ \\ x=\boxed{7}\end{array}\right]

Hope this helps.
