Calculate the number of cans he can collect
Every bags hold 300 cans, so the number of cans will be
the cans = the number of bags × the number of cans each bag
the cans = 5 × 300
the cans = 6,000
He can collect 6,000 cans

Calculate the amount of money he will get
If $2 is the money he gets for collecting 450 cans, then x will be the money he gets for collecting 6,000 cans. Make a comparison.

\frac{\text{money}}{\text{cans}}= \frac{\text{money}}{\text{cans}}

Plug in the numbers

(x)/(6,000)= (2)/(450)

solve for x by moving 6,000 to the right side. Because on the left side, it's a divisor, after moved out to the right side it will become a multiplier.

(x)/(6,000)= (2)/(450)

x= (2(6,000))/(450)

simplify

x= (12,000)/(450)
x = 26.67

He will get about $26.67
